This kit is used to extract genomic DNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples. This kit uses a special non-toxic dewaxing reagent instead of xylene in the traditional method to make dewaxing safe and simple. The special buffer and the given dissolution conditions overcome the nucleic acid cross-linking problem caused by formalin fixation in paraffin-embedded tissues, so that DNA can be efficiently released from tissue sections. Because tissue fixation and embedding pose significant fragmentation problems, which allow DNA extracted from FFPE samples to have a wide size distribution, it is not recommended for downstream applications that require full-length DNA fragments. The genomic DNA purified by this kit is suitable for downstream applications such as real-time quantitative RT-PCR, sequencing and mutation screening. Support manual extraction and applications for automated instruments and platforms.
Product characteristics:
1)safe and non-toxic: special dewaxing reagent, no xylene;
2) two sets of protocols:
- rapid method: no proteinase K digestion;
- standard method: better quality, higher purity, ultra-strong stability.
