The kit is a reversible adsorption system using beads to plasmid DNA that allows efficient binding of DNA and beads, while proteins and other contaminants are removed under certain conditions. Nucleic acids are readily eluted with sterile water or elution buffer. The endotoxin-free (EZgene ™ EndoFree) system uses a specially formulated buffer to remove endotoxin from bacterial lysate. Purified plasmid endotoxin levels were < 15 EU/µg endotoxin. Purified endotoxin-free DNA can be used for various downstream applications, such as transfection of endotoxin-sensitive cell lines, primary cultured cells.
